We have a GE Model GSH22KGRE side by side. Everything seems to be working fine with the exception of the ice maker. It is stuck in the crush mode. This happened one other time and on its own it went back to cubes. It looks like there is an arm that moves and changes the modes. The mechanism in the back of the freezer does not move. Any input would be appreciated.

You might try removing the ice bin and leaving it out for a few hours to thaw out.
If you do, make sure you raise the wire arm on the ice maker to keep it from dumping ice!

Good tip Wally, the mechanism(the little gate that allows the ice cubes to bypass the grinder) was wedged shut with a piece of ice. The ice bucket mechanism work freely. However I did notice that the arm that extends back into the ice maker itself was not moving to open and close the gate. Pressing the "cube" or "crush" button did not cause the motor to move the arm to a different position. I think my problem is in the back wall somewhere... do you think its possible that its frozen up back there?

It certainly could be. I've had a problem where the water inlet freezes up, preventing any more ice from being made. I used my wife's hair dryer on low to thaw it out before. You might try something like this. Don't concentrate on a small area, but move the warm air around the area you suspect. It is probably not a permanent fix, but worth a try anyway.
