My male 2 year old Miniture Dachshund wet the bed.
I have a approx 2 year old miniture dachshund that was a resuce. Ive had him for over a year and recently moved (in the last week). He is house trained and rarely has accidents however whenever he is at my parents (even when I'm there with him) or at a friends house if I'm out of town he has accidents all the time. I can't figure out why he does it or how to resolve the situation...
Question 2... Another bizarre thing happened tonight, when I was crawling into bed, he was buried under the covers as usual and I rearraged him and the pillows to sleep, then I realized there was a large wet spot at the top of my bed it had gone down all the way through my mattress pad and into my down pillow top. It smelled horribly of urine. It was obvious that he had peed in my bed! He hasnt' ever even peed on my clothes! And when I called him he just bounced up and looked at me like he didn't have a clue. He knows when he is in trouble and he has done something wrong! He didn't have a clue that he had done it and the only thing I could think of was that he had peed in his sleep. I know that this problem can occur in older female dogs but I'm at a loss to know why he has done it!

He's not happy with you for upsetting his normal routine.

I believe he is trying to punish you for his discomfort with the new place to live.

I love animals, but I have to say, a dog, or cat, or whatever, would only pee in my bed one time.

There are just some things that I will not tolerate, this would be one of them.

Sounds like he might have a bladder infection, if he didn't realize that he did it, didn't feel guilty at all, then it might be that he didn't even realize he had done it. Have you gone to the vet?

I had a poodle that had constant bladder infections, pills after pills, okay for a week and then right back where we started, we ended up having to put diapers on him because he really couldn't control it, he peed everywhere. We finally went to a vet that specialized in holistic medicine for animals, a few herbal remedies and he was finally cured.

As for peeing at your mom's house, well he's marking his territory. Time for a bit of training, he can't be allowed to do that. There are sprays and drops that you can purchase that might deter him for urinating at your moms house, but she'd have to spray it wherever you pup usually pees, and he might just go somewhere else, or the spray won't work at all. Does your mom have a dog?

He is probably is a little confused over the new living conditions and may not quite have known what to do. I would have the puppy checked for a urinary tract infection, since he didn't seem aware that he urinated.
My recently-adopted male neutered Doberman also "leaks" in his sleep. A round of antibiotics for a mild UTI did not help, so my next step will be getting him x-rayed for bladder stones. I have never had a male who did this either, so I am perplexed also.
