Contact the judge's office through the secretary or calendar clerk, and ask to have the hearing cancelled. If this is agreeable with the judge, be certain to let the attorney know by phone and mail. It is customary to keep a copy of all correspondence to prove what you have done. Just curious: has the attorney requested a hearing and had it scheduled at the same time?
