    To add to what zoe12345 said... open your eyes to another culture, develop an understanding of others' view points, often dispel some stereotypes, help to dispel some stereotypes others may have of where you are from, if this is for higher level learning... secondary or high school, can be a nice addition on university applications... college or university level, it can be an asset in some jobs, a good career move depending on what you are planning to do. I highly recommend it if it is an option... :)
