    Whirlpool side by side problems
I have a whirlpool refrig, it will not keep the frigerator cold and the freezer is getting frost and ice build up in the bottom. I want to repair it myself just need to know where to start, would love to know of any websites that have a diagram of the components I need to check... thanks for any input!

Seems to me that you could have a faulty defrost element or thermal switch both of which are situated behind the panel in the freezer section. The fridge section is operated by cold air being driven from freezer by a fan. If you have a build up of ice in the freezer section the fan can't circulate the air causing the fridge to stop cooling. If you switch off appliance for and let the ice melt and then switch it on an you get cold air in the fridge that will prove where the fault is.
