    Itouch 32gb no volume cap
Is the US model of the itouch 32gb the same as the European model? Also what does the following mean "US model no volume cap" ? I have seen this as a detail on an itouch offered for sale on eBay but I have no idea what it means. Many thanks for any replies.

    Dank
The no volume cap models have a minor software hack allowing the volume to go louder than the Apple set limit (perhaps hasn't been implemented in the US yet?).

"iPods sold in Europe cap the volume at 100 decibels; uncapped iPods can reach more than 115 decibels" from Howstuffworks.com

There are concerns about the Ipod causing hearing damage. According to this 2006 Engadget article, Apple was planning on implementing a volume limiter on future Ipods (beyond 2006).
