I went for a scan on wedenesday 4th June and they said that I wasn't pregnant as I had bleeding I got told that I had a miscarriage then some one told me about tilted uterus could some one let me know what it is please

Usually the uterus is "tipped" more forward or up and down... for many women it can be "tipped" slightly backwards... this is what is meant by a "tilted uterus". In most cases it mean very little and there are no issues involved with it... just one of the many differences between women, but it can cause some women discomfort, may cause an increased chance of certain conditions (such as endometriosis), and may be a possible reason for repeated miscarriages. If it is determined to be causing problems, there are a few things that can be done to treat it. Did your doctor mention a tilted uterus or did someone else? Since you had a miscarriage, it may be looked at, but most miscarriages will have nothing to do with the position of the uterus. Would likely give you some peace of mind to have it considered.

It's a potential reason for a miscarriage, or rather not so much the position itself per se but other conditions it can make more likely because of the position that may be a reason. (hope that makes sense). Mention it to your doctor and see what they say.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

Miscarriage can take place due to several reasons. A tilted uterus probably doesn't have anything to do with it though. Don't be afraid to call your doctor to ask. :)

I was for the first time told that I too had a tilted uterus. I had asked my doctor why I had never been told that before. She said its so common that some doctors just do not say anything because it has no bearing on infertility or miscarriages. I have one beautiful 2 yr old, so there is still hope for you. I too have started my miscarriage last month. Its my first miscarriage and still have unresolved answers. Hope it works out for you.

I was told about 5 years ago that I had a tilted uterus and again just last week, but the good thing is, there's still hope, I have a wonderful 4 year old and endometriosis, some people just have miscarriages and most of the time, Drs don't know what caused it, it just happens, just because you had one miscarriage doesn't necessarily mean that you will have another, so keep you chin up and I am very sorry for your loss
