There are no specific instructions anyone can give that would be applicable to every situation you could get yourself into. So,

    Option A)
    1. Hire a consultant to install your Internet connection. <- This is your best solution to ensure your personal or business needs are satisfied by the Internet connection that is obtained.

    -or-

    Option B)
    1. Order DSL/dialup from local Internet Service Provider.
    2. Buy DSL router/dialup modem if one was not supplied by Internet Service Provider.
    3. Configure router/modem as instructed by Internet Service Provider.
    4. Purchase switch if router does not have one built in.
    5. Connect router to switch and computer to switch / computer to modem.
    6. Configure computer as instructed by Internet Service Provider or as necessary to work with router/modem.

If you choose option B, you can post back here for specific help for a specific issue or recommendations.

I agree with the fine answer above!

It would also help to know where you are located in order to maybe point you in the direction of a company that provides Internet service in your area.

    Thanks!
