I don't have the manual, how do I take off write-protection?
I bought an Mp3 player and I stick it in my USB port and when I try to add or delete songs but it says that the disk is write-protected. How do I remove that write-protection so I can add and delete songs on my Mp3 player?

Post the model of the MP3 player, please.

Did you format your MP3 player ? IF you format with FAT32 , no problem but if you format with NTFS , your MP3 player can't work at all . If you format to NTFS , reformat it again with FAT32.

This is not a piggybacked question, but one directly related to the dialogue in this thread.

I'm not really familiar with MP3 players, but am curious as to whether there might be some copyright law issue here? To be more concise in what I am asking, is it okay to copy songs to an MP3 player?

    Thanks!

It's OK to make copies of music you own for your own use or for archival purposes.

Thanks for the response, JBeaucaire! I did know about the copyright thing concerning music that you already own, but didn't know necessarily that music that is played on an MP3 was owned by the person using it or not. Thanks!

Your only supposed to copy music onto an MP3 Player that you own from originals or archival copies of music you purchased yourself.

It's not actually legal to copy your music into someone else's MP3 library.
