I am a sales representative on commissions... I have to earn my said salary in commissions before I get a penny of commissions... however I get a weekly check... so I guess it is more like salary plus commissions?? However, my questions is this: if I have to earn my said salary, then have to miss a day for sickness, should I not get my normal weekly check? Does this not mean the same as being on salary? Please help me out!:confused:

It sounds to me like you are on a straight commission with a weekly draw pay plan.

With this plan, you could end up actually owing the company money, instead of getting paid.

If you miss a day, that day would be deducted from the draw.

If you don't earn enough to cover the draw amount, you either have to pay the company the difference, or it would be deducted from your next draw or commission check.

What you are on, if you are paid merely commissoin, you are getting an advance on your pay ( a loan so to speak)

Which is dangerous, since if you don't earn the amount you are being paid and ever leave, you have to pay them back the money you were paid but not earned..

This is a draw against your commission. So it is not a salary , it is not pay, it is basically a loan. So if you don't work one day, it is very possible you can get the same draw, but don't go too far into debt.

Ok so i get paid salary on a weekly basis i do not work any overtime but when i was recently sick two days they want to deduct that out of my pay check is this right? I thought salary they had to give me that same amount every week? Am i wrong?
This is a very small companymaybe 20 employees does this matter? Please help!
