    Direct deposit
A company my husband worked for months ago had me set up direct deposit in my dba business account to direct deposit his pay. Two weeks ago they deposited $500. And a few days later $2000. They also sent my husaband notices with the taxes and all taken out of the money in his name( A check stub or confirmation). Now they have sent word through an employee of theirs that it was a mistake and they would be removeing the money from my account is this possible? The money has already posted in my account. I didn't sign anything giving them permision to get into my account other than direct deposit. My husband is only a signer on the account.

If they in fact made an error, they have the right to correct it.

If they gave him more money than he actually earned, what right would you, or he, have to keep it?

I believe with the signed direct deposit form, they will have covered their butt's in the event a mistake happens, he probably agreed to the reversal of such a mistake in the fine print.

OK, you gave me a red dot, and in the same breath, admitted to the accuracy of my answer?

Please explain in detail, the part of my answer that is inaccurate?

Just exactly what is it that you disagree with?

They do have a right to correct their mistake. Someone from the company should have contacted me. They did take the money back out of my account. I never said anything about keeping their money. I am treasurer at my church. I wouldn't take anything that doesn't belong to me. I at least thought the bank should have contacted me to let me know what was going on. The bank says they can still take money and I would have to prove them wrong. Who's account is it? I have 2 other accounts with this bank. That one is my business account. If they overdraw one account the bank says the bank can take from my other accounts to cover until everything is settled. No more direct deposits for me.

    OK.

We agree a mistake was made.
We agree they have the right to correct the mistake.
We agree you would not have a right to keep the money, paid by mistake.

    We agree.

Your original question obviously seemed to indicate that you felt they had no right to correct the mistake, by taking back the money. That was put into the account, by mistake.

If you want to argue about an answer, I welcome it, but please, don't hit me with a red dot when you can't even point out, what it is in the answer, that you disagree with.

Any company that you allow to make direct depoists, in fact any company that has your bank info can make a electronic withdraw from your account, now it would be fraud and you can file a complaint.
But in fact if you wrote me a check, and I had your account and tracking number from it, I would send in a electronic withdraw. This happens all the time with collection companies, people who steal your banking info, or companies you buy one thing from, but they are crooked and keep taking money.
