I'm quite annoyed at the moment so I thought I'd have a bit of a rant on this website, sorry for those of you reading it!

Entering beauty pageants and modeling competitions is great fun and I really enjoy the competitivness of it all and meeting some really nice people. It just really annoys me that whilst I have met some genuine, interesting and intelligent girls, some of the girls that enter are very nasty and pretend to be your friend until the contest is over and they just don't bother with you anymore. Quite a few of the girls seem to be completely fixed on winning the crown/title and have forgotten that it's meant to be fun!!

I know that the point of these contests is to win the crown but surely it is just as important to enjoy yourself and make new friends?

It really annoys me that they would do absolutely anything to get that crown! I think that I will stop entering these contests if I start to become fixed on winning, for now I'm happy to compete and have a good time

Good for you! Unfortunately the kind of people you describe aren't limited to contests. There's always someone out there competing for jobs, honors, higher positions or whatever. They don't care if they have to pretend to be someone's friend, step on the toes of the people that have been kind to them, or sleep with the boss; as long as they get what they want that's all that matters to them. I admire your spirit of keeping things in proper perspective. Keep enjoying yourself and don't let people like that ruin it for you.
