What makes a Guy stay in a relationship?
Dr. Phil Mc Graw said that women fall in love with their ears, guys fall in love with their eyes.

I was/am in good relationship and I know that guys are in the dark how women think but it's simple... constant reassurance that you love &miss her, showing your eagerness to make her happy& willingness to listen.

For guys, beautiful partner, good sex, a loooooot of ego stroking, motivation, seeing satisfaction from his partner... what else?

You can't make generalizations about everybody as different people have different reasons for staying in a relationship and getting into one in the first place.

Not all guys need to have their ego stroked and all the things you have up there some just want to be with someone who compliments them in such a way as it makes them be a better person. Same goes with women.

Yea, I kind of take offense at that, but I see what you're grasping at so I won't take it personally. Everybody in this world is different and things that make the other interested. Me personally, I go for a great smile and eyes. They also have to have a decent intelligence level and respect for themselves, I don't want to have a conversation about the next time some stupid purse comes out. It changes, everybody wants someone who will compliment the other, accept their faults as their own.

Im not saying that all men are like that but in general I think I observe it right. I read here men are visual so for surprisingly more intelligent in choosing partners, it's a thumbs up. I don't mean to offend here.. sorry if u were.:)..

The issues is that some men like heavy women, some short women, some like large breasts, others small. For some men, looks are not as important as a good partner, a friend, perhaps for someone that loves to cook and keep house..

For myself I would look for someone who is fun to talk with and be with, and someone that loves to cook.

Interesting that your question is a bit offensive to some guys. Maybe I just don't get it.

Here are my female assumptions based on many, many years of observation. But then, maybe I don't get it.

Men need to be appreciated and admired, some need it non-stop, so a woman who looks good to other men is a plus. Men like to do big jobs, so a partner that takes care of all the little stuff is a plus. Men prefer to get things done with loud motors, so a partner who appreciates how good they are with a loud motor is a good woman.

Men are wonderful (if prone to idealism) and capable creatures. However, in spite of their superior logic and intellect they would die of starvation and filth without help. Women are weak and illogical so that the lesser tasks and obligations should fall to them. Obviously, to keep a man in a relationship is simply a matter of applauding his every success, doing everything he doesn't want to, always smelling good and looking like a model 24/7.

Since no one can see me laughing hysterically, maybe it's best to say that being politically incorrect was my intent.

I think there are no guarantees when it comes to relationships. It just depend on the two people that's involved. They have to work hard because relationships just take a lot of work and the two people have to want it to work. There's no perfect relationship and it has it up and downs. It just like if you buy something from the store and spend a lot of money on one item only to have it stop working and now your mad because of the amount of money you spent on it.

I used to wonder how can people make a married work for 20+ years then all of a sudden get a divorce, could they have made it worked if it had for all though years?

We all are humans and with that being said we have our own mind. It doesn't matter what you do for partner if they don't want to stay they won't and I don't want anyone to be by my side if they don't want to be there because your mate above all is suppose to you for you no matter any flaws, because we all have some.

    Hi Liz,

That is great. I wish you could tell my ex this and get this through his head for me. :)
