My Maytag washer is flashing the letters FL and seems not to be working. I don't have the money to call a repair man / woman. But if anyone knows what FL means and how to fix it I would apreciate it and no I can not find my instructions that came with it about 5 years ago.

Door lock monitor switch in door lock mechanism unable to communicate to control board the door is locked. 1.Check wire connections in harness leading from machine control board to door lock mechanism.
2.Check solenoid and door lock enable switch in door lock mechanism.

3.Replace responsible component.
