    Replacing shower/tub valve body
I am remodeling my bathroom. I need to replace the shower/tub valve body. My galvanized pipes are rusting out. I have a three handle system. Hot, cold and diverter.
I have two bathrooms which are built back to back. I have one set of incoming water lines. A previous owner repiped and brought copper down from the attic to replace the galvanized in the slab. The incoming lines are connected to the bottom of the valve body. Two lines run out the top to connect to the shower in the bathroom next door. I cannot find this style of valve body locally. The ones I do find do not have the second set of outlet holes. I could buy a couple of tee fittings to reroute the lines to the second bath, but it is a spider web of pipes already. I thought it was a pricepfister but not. The house was built in 1962. Not sure if these parts have been replaced before. Does anyone know who made this type of valve? If I have a maker, I could maybe order one.

    Thanks

I am confused, are you saying one mixing valve body runs boths showers in the two baths? If you are remodeling it doesn't really matter much since you can do a total replacement and I would recommend Moen mixing valves. You need a 1/2" supply line to each cold inlet and each hot inlet coming off of 3/4" main trunk. This is if both baths are used at the same time. Back to you to clear up my confusion.

Sorry if my reply went astray. Yes, it is one mixing valve body for both showers. It is quite the spider web of piping! Anyway, I cannot find anybody who has even seen one of these, "double" or "back to back" valve bodies. If I need to move on and replace what I have, I have not yet explored the attic to see how far the two (hot and cold) lines travel from the main trunk. Which way is more efficient, using a tee to split off the two incoming lines in the wall between the two showers, or going back to the trunk to split of two new lines? Would I be breaking any plumbing rules? And Will this effect the water pressures to the shower?
