Every 30,000 miles or 3 years, whichever comes first:

. Disconnect battery cables to both batteries.
. Open radiator (degasser) cap and open drain cock, in order to drain the bulk of the old coolant from the system.
. Remove two hex head engine drain plugs (one is above the starter and one is on the driver's side of the engine), to drain remaining coolant in engine block.
. Close drain cock, replace engine drain plugs (apply teflon tape dope), and slowly add a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and Ford Premium Green Antifreeze (Ford Spec. ESE-M97-B44-A). Total capacity is 32 quarts.
. Add 10 oz. of Supplemental Coolant Additive (FW-16). Do this every 15,000 miles, to prevent cavitation damage--rear two cylinders are prone to damage. Test with Fleetguard test strips.
. Reconnect battery cables, start engine, and allow truck to reach normal operating temperature. Check coolant level, after engine cools.
