Mower Still Won't make a sound
I have a Powr Kraft (MTD I think) rider, and it won't make a sound when I turn the key. The last answer I got was to check the bendix gear, and to rotate the motor counter clockwise. Neither of these helped. I did figure out that if I put the jumper cables to the start, the engine cranked right up. Since I had a new battery, I assumed my solenoid was out. However, I replaced that, and I'm still not getting any sound. My volt meter shows 12 volts going to the solenoid, but nothing coming out. I traced two wires to a small 7.5amp fuse, but when I pulled the fuse out, the filament is still intact. What are some other possible problems I could check out. Please note, I'm not very familiar with this type of stuff, just learning it as I go.

If it starts when you connect jumpers than you either bought the wrong battery, connected it wrong (not saying your stupid but it happens) or the battery is faulty.

Sorry, I don't think I made myself very clear. I actually hooked the jumper cables directly to the starter. I can even hook the cables from the mower batter to the starter and get it running. So my problem lies somewhere between the batter, and the starter. And since I'm getting 12 volts to the solenoid, but none coming out, I'm assuming it either has to be a fuse that I haven't found, or a switch of some sort.

    H. clo3,
There are safety switches , one on the seat, one on the clulch or could be the key switch is defective.
