I have a few VHS's that won't rewind all the way, so I can only watch from the middle or close to the end of the movie. It's the best movies, too. Is there a way to get it to rewind all the way?

My son says to either get a rewinder machine that just rewinds the tapes or buy a new VCR as your rewinder mechanism is going. He fixes small electronics and knows what to look for. The rewinder machines are getting scarcer and scarcer now as everyone went to DVD's, etc. You may find a rewinder at a thrift store. I remember Best Buy sold them about a year ago. They were about $25 though.

My VCR is brand new, I got it a month ago, it's a VCR/DVD combo. And it's the same videos in the same spot... I doubt this has anything to do with the VCR.

Maybe do by hand, you have to push a small square button near tape hinge to fold up. Then push a pencil in a recess in the bottom that will allow slack, get some slack, and wind back by hand(finger in the take up reel), it is a little tricky as the door is spring loaded.

Okay, I will try that... thank you. Will I have to do this every time?
