I have a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan that just stopped working,I came home and it was off and when I turn on the switch the blades just turn about an inch and stop then I turn the switch off and it kicks back. The switch I am turning on is the wall switch.I am unsure of the name of my fan but it has a glass globe on top with little lights in it and the fan blades come out of the bottom of the globe.

See if the blades will turn by hand (make sure it is off!).
It sounds like there is something bound up. Maybe you will free it up, or can see what is wrong.

What type of wall switch is it? Does the fan have pullchains?

Do the blades turn freely by hand?
