    Pregnancy worries
Hi I am now 12 weeks pregnant and I have been worrying ever since I found out ever pain o muscle pulled I have I think I am going to lose the baby, I am so scared and the paranoa is driving me crazy, how would I know if something was wrong like what signs, everything should be OK now though and is there anything I need to look out for in particular.

    Thanks in advance

You are passed the point where the majority of miscarriages occur... so hopefully that will give you some peace of mind. Any bleeding should be reported to your doctor or midwife. There are several reasons someone might have some bleeding in pregnancy... some are benign, hormone changes, but you won't know if that is the case in your situation, so it is important to have it checked out if it should occur. A guide often given is anything more than a teaspoon amount, but how are you going to really know? Spotting may happen after a pelvic exam or intercourse for a couple of days, but when in doubt, let your doctor know.
Pain would be another possible indicator... obviously any severe pain, with or without bleeding. Can be severe back pain as well. Pain that is constant, or comes and goes with a pattern too. The pain many women feel when they first stand up, a sharp catch in the groin, is due to ligaments that support the uterus stretching... painful and annoying, but not a concern. Just as with the bleeding, if it causes you concern, it merits a phone call to your doctor or midwife... don't worry that you will bother them, that is what they are there for.
