Connecting washer 120 to dryer 240
    Hello,

My Washer and Dryer are Stackable, a 120 plug for washer and 240 for dryer. I only have a 240 receptacle in my laundry room nook. Would it be possible to pigtail or tie in my washer to the dryer's 240 panel located at the back of the unit? Currently when I open the back of the dryer I see the panel from left to right Red Blue Black. Can I hook my washer to these posts? My brother whose an electrician seems to think so. Anybody done this, any takes?
    Thank you

    No you can't tap a 120 off a 240 Volt.
If the Dryer wires are in Conduit you could pull a pair of # 12's for a receptacle, install this new outlet next to Dryer Outlet, this will be on a 20 Amp breaker, the dryer on a 30.

    Thanks for your reply Stratmando!
How is it that my last washer and dryer unit only had one plug for both units.
Is there a filter or voltage down convert built into the unit. Thank you.

It can be done within a unit, that's why there is 4 wire now because the neutral is needed for 120 volt items in dryer(timer, relays, anything)
