Fan rotation very slow, changed switch with same result.

Is it a 3 speed fan? Which switch did you change out? Did you check the wiring inside the housing to make sure nothing is loose? Is there a rheostat (variable resistor) on the wall that may be controlling the speed?

Quick response, thanks. Yes to 3 speed, switch was for speeds, wiring seems to be secure,and no rheostat.

More than likely it's the motor.

I forgot to ask if it is controlled by remote control? If yes, then you might want to check the remote. If no, then it is probably the motor capacitor that has given out for the higher speeds.

No to remote and final question or last bit of info. Fan seems to have all speeds except they are all substantially slower. Does this point to capacitor? Thank you gentlemen

Joe, I believe it is a capacitor problem. You might want to take if off and go to Lowe's and ask them to find you a replacement. If this still doesn't work, then replace the fan. Perhaps you have another fan in the house that you can use to eliminate any other issues, such as wiring.
