    Main Burner Won't Ignite
I have a small furnace that heats my garage and two rooms above my garage. Turned this furnace on for the first time this year and all it does is blows out cold air. Pilot is lit but it seems like the main burner doesn't ignite. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Gerry

You should have a red wire that goes from the transformer at the furnace to the thermostat. It then switches the power to a white wire that runs to the gas valve. If you have 24 volta across the terminals of the gas valve, and the gas isn't on, the valve is bad. Otherwise, trace the power back to where it is off.

Make sure the stat is calling for heat, give the gas valve a little whack. Sometimes the valves can stick close and not be pulled open. This is very common in unit heaters that have set idle for sometime.
