My husband's family gave him a piece of land as inherited property while we were married. If we build a house on the land and later down the road get a divorce, am I intitled to 50% of the property and house?

My guess is that each state is somewhat different as to how it approaches division of property in a divorce; where I live, the real estate would be his because it was acquired by inheritance, but the improvements (house) would be divided between you because it was constructed as a marital asset.
