    Getting out of a lease
We have a small business and are trying to get out of our 3 year lease. We have occupied the building for 14 months. We have notified the landlord verbally. Rent is due again and we can't pay. What are our legal rights? What's the best way to get out of the lease so it doesn't hurt our credit or we get sued? We are in Florida.

    Read the lease.

It will give you all the details you are seeking.

If there is an early termination clause, it will be detailed in your lease.

If there is not, you will owe the balance up to the time it is re-rented.

Perhaps you know of someone that is looking for a space to rent?
