I had a maintenance guy come out and reset the pressure switch on my condenser outside because my A/C was not working. I cannot figure out how he reset the pressure switch. I have all the breaker switches on in the main braker console for the house. I think the pressure switch is a red button near the bottom outside of the condenser. Is the pressure switch the red button outside of the A/C condenser? My RUDD A/C is two years old. When I press the pressure switch button it doesn't seem to do anything. Is the button supposed to kick on the condenser fan? Should I hold the button in? What is going on with the pressure switch? Is there something else I need to do. :)

You need to have the unit checked by a professional. It is probably overcharged with refrigerant causing it to cut out. Hitting the reset is not the cure and could possibly damage the unit.
