I read a lot of the threads here, and learned a few things. I tried some of the recommended things, like make sure there is hot water going to the mixer, and there is.
Here is the situation:

I have a Zuchetti mixer... It has a little button on it that allows you to get to the "hotter" temps. But even at the fully turned adjustment, it just does not get hot anymore.

I had hot water in the shower for two years, after about two years it only gets luke warm.

I assumed it was simply a problem with the mixer. I got a new mixer, installed it, and now only have extremely hot water, that decreases in pressure quickly, and eventually flows only to s drip. When I lower the temp on the mixer, it eventually flows better, but VERY HOT, and then slows again to a drip. I am guessing it had an anti-scolding regulator in it that prevents the water from coming out VERY HOT? Maybe it just simply needs an adjustment, and maybe the other one just needs to be lubricated and / or cleaned?

Repost - - Anyone? Please?

Sal. I have not worked with this valve and I imagine my plumber friends may be in the same boat. Where do you live? When you replaced the cartridge did you open and close the main to insure the lines were blown out of all dberis? It sounds like the new cartridge has inherited the old problem which is really quite rare.

This mixer problem is in a central New Jersey location.

I opened and closed all the lines, and thoroughly flushed since I was trying to make sure that there was actually hot water coming to the pipe where the mixer installed..

Can I go out and buy a different manufactuer's mixer without much trouble? I do not even care what it looks like at this point... But I am assuming they are all different sizes, and I will have pipe work to do to install a different mixer? I am at the point I can not even use this shower... may have to throw in the towel, and just call the pros?

Calling in a pro is always an option but I am surprised we have not heard from some of the plumbers here at AMHD. Installing a new mixing valve is not rocket science but difficult to do woithout tearing out some wallboard.

Hey, I appreciate any answers.. This is the first time I used the site, and I think it is great. Like I said earlier, I tried some things (before I posted)... from other threads when people had the same problem.

UPDATE...
I just got off the phone with the rep that says there sre two allen nuts located just to the left and right of the mixer (mounted separately from the mixer). I thought these were to hold something together, or hold something to the wall??

He tells me that these allen nuts have filters behind them, and that they must be clogged... I will be back there Monday, checking that out... holy cow... if I can take a hot normal shower that would be great.

I figured posting this might help someone out, and help anyone in the future... and I will update on Monday.
