My irrigation system requires the well pump psi to be set above 30 psi on the low end or else it drains the well. Once I cut the power and remove the cover to the Pumptrol switch, I turned down (clockwise) the center spring loaded screw down (the higher one upon which the cover was affixed). That seemed to work by changing the low setting from about 37 to 40 (I feel better having the setting way above 30 as I don't want to run the risk of the irrigation "bell" cutting in and draining the well - hate to wake up to no water) but the high end psi went from 60 to 65. Is that okay? Also, what is the left most screw down used for (the lower one)? I suspect that I must adjust both spring loaded screw downs for upper/lower and variance? Many thanks!

First turnoff the power at the breaker box, then pull the cover off the pressure switch and you will see two spring loaded bolts secured with nylon nuts. One tall, one short. To increase the cut in pressure, turn the nut on the tall bolt down. To increase the cut out pressure,(that's the one that will give you more pressure) turn the nut on the short bolt down..
