I want to replace a metal outside faucet with a plastic faucet, with PVC pipe into the house, connected to a copper water line that I cut to remove the old faucet. I'd like to add a plastic shutoff valve inside the house at the same time. Can this be done? (Note: Copper will be straight cut... no threads available.)

Hey Barn,
If it were my call I would solder on a threaded male adapter to the copper pipe and convert to PVC using a PVC slip to female thread coupling. Good luck, Tom

If he can't solder, there is always sharkbite to CPVC pipe, CPVC to male adapter, to PVC valve. PVC valve to PVC male adpater. PVC pipe to whatever.

This assumes you can't or won't solder. Sharkbite works with CPVC and not PVC.

You wll also need different glues and primers for the PVC and CPVC unless you get the universal glue.

A lot of parts, but at least you don't have to solder.

Teflon tape will be required for the pipe threads.
