    Adding a basement sink
I have a bathroom in my basement but it is just a toilet. How hard would it be to add a sink and maybe even a shower?
    Thanks

    Hi altheide5:

Look around, near the toilet and see if you see a 2" pipe coming up out of the ground and running upstairs. If you see this, adding a sink should be pretty easy (would just need to cut a sanitary tee fitting into it at about 20" to center of fitting OFF finished floor). This would make for a properly vented sink as well.

It would be nice for you to find a 2" pipe...but unlikley. If anything...may be that there is a three inch pipe near this toilet (looks bigger than 3"). This will also work but would require you to cut that sanitary fitting into the pipe AND run a separate vent for it as well. That would require you to run a vent up to the next floor or even into the attic where you can attach the vent properly.

There are exceptions to the above... for example, may be a vent in the basement that you can connect into... depends on your house layout.

Anyway, there is some info. For you. Let me know if you have more questions. I will be back on later toninght!

    Good day... MARK
