It would help if you were a little more specific on the time line here -- your grandmother died 15 years ago, but when did your father die? And when did your parents get divorced? If your grandmother died while your parents were still married, then your mother may be able to claim that the assets should have been listed in your father's divorce proceedings, as an asset to be split. If your grandmother died after your parents filed for divorce I don't see where your mother could make a claim.
