Wiring Outside A/C Condenser Fan Motor
Need help wiring a new outside a/c condenser fan motor. Old fan motor has 3 wires: black, blue, light orange. Black to one side of contact, light orange to other side. Blue to capacitor. Contact has 5 connectors.. one side: black from motor, black to inside the condenser. Other side: dark orange to capacitor, light orange from motor, red to inside the condenser. Old capacitor has 3 connectors, blue from motor, dark orange from contact and yellow to inside the condenser.
New fan has 5 wires: black, white, brown, brown/white stripe, green ground wire. New capacitor has only 2 connectors. What side of contact do black and white wires from motor go? Do both brown and brown/white wires go to capacitor? Do the yellow and dark orange from old capacitor go to new capacitor also? Does it make any difference which capacitor contacts are used? Can the green ground be connected to the fan motor mounting grill? Thank you.

This can only be figured out by somebody familiar with the wiring diagram of the motor, which isn't me. The old capacitor may have been a 2 section one for both the fan motor and the compressor motor which is where the other wires disappear to. The extra wires on the new motor may available for applications using multiple speeds, or separate wires to go to the capacitor. Did you get any instructions with it? You may need to check where you bought it, or the manufacturer's web site.
