What does it mean when smoke comes out of my oil in my lawn mower

How much oil am I supposed to puting my lawn mower

I assume you are asking about mixing gas and oil for a 2 cycle engine but I need to be sure. If your mower uses a gas oil mix 40:1 ration should work fine but if you are asking about the oil level in the crank tell me what engine you have.

2 cycle or 4 cycle and what color smoke, blue, white, black?

Hmmm, what type engine and what size? Are you referring to crankcase oil for a four stroke engine, or the oil for the fuel mixture in a two cycle engine? Need a little more information here please.

It is a 4 cycle and it was white smoke and the oil turned black
