I want to change my daughter's last name
I have been married for almost a year and we are expecting our first child together. I have a 2 1/2 year old from a previous relationship, unfortunately she has her biological father's last name. Is there any way I can have her last name changes so that she doesn't feel left out when she gets older. She see's her biological father maybe twice a month and he hasn't paid child support since it was ordered. My husband would love to be able to adopt her but we are aware of the Massachusettes laws on adoption. Do you think the court will consider the fact that I have full physical and legal custody of my daughter and due to insurance reason and when she goes to school it would be better for her to have my last name?

The only way you can legally change her name is by court order. This means adoption or the bio father's consent. I doubt she will be confused if her bio father is a part of her life.
