Right click on the yellow alert audio controller, select PROPERTIES

Shuffle around in there and find the UPDATE DRIVER and see if that reinstalls the driver.

If that doesn't work, go back, right click on it and DELETE the item from your Device Manager.

Now reboot the system and let your computer try to rediscover the device. You might have to go into the Control Panel and start the ADD HARDWARE process, but hopefully not.

Just a personal preference, but if I get the yellow thing, I always delete it first, and then re-boot and let Windows try to find it again. Partly cause I don't update drivers unless I have a reason to (an unsolvable problem), because sometimes it just makes things worse. And also, well, just because. :-)

Right click on yellow mark and choose uninstall, then close all windows and reboot, restarting PC should reinstall generic windodws drivers for the sound card, should work
