I have a room covered with Venetian Plaster - the ultra-smooth look. I want to texture the walls so I can repaint with a faux finish. Can I do this over the Venetian Plaster? I've read that you can paint over it after a light sanding and priming, but haven't read anything about adding texture. Thanks!

What kind of wall is it that the Venetian plaster has already been applied to, please?

Hi Clough, it appears to be on drywall (at least that's what every other wall in the house is). Any help would be much appreciated.
