    Remote ceiling fan troubleshooting
    We have two identical Harbor Breeze fans with separate remotes that have been working well for past 2 years. One fan has stopped responding to remote. Remote for non functioning fan will operate second fan if dip switch setting is adjusted. Is there any other resolution than replacing transmitter? Can transmitter be purchased as sole unit?

    Excellent work swapping the remotes. This rules that out as a problem. Did you also try the good fan's remote on the bad fan? Or replacing the battery in the remote (never hurts)?

    If none of these suggestions pans out, then it sounds like the bad fan is either not getting power, or the receiver (in the fan) has gone bad. I'd try to verify that power is getting to the fan (i.e. breaker not tripped, wires secure, etc.) Oh, is there a wall switch for the bad fan? If it was turned off, that would be an easy fix!

    Contact the manufacturer for a replacement remote. If they cannot help you or if they are prohibitively expensive, purchase a universal remote.
