Rough guide is 12 -16 days before your next period is due... but I would start trying earlier than that in case you tend to ovulate early (many women do), and continue a few days afterwards as well. You are more likely to hit the mark if the sperm are already present when you release an egg instead of trying to hit the exact day. Having several sessions of trying in the week before, and the week during you think you are most likely to ovulate can be helpful.

Do get the folic acid in a prenatal or multivitamin. It is important to have going before you conceive. You can also try it in a children's vitamin. Taking it at night, with a bit of food before you go to bed, might also help.

    Fingers crossed!

Folic acid is a chemical used to decrease the effects of neural tube defects (spina bifida) in babies. This will not do anything to increase your chances of conceiving.

You need an ovulation predictor or similar device-try "maybe baby" it is a device for calculating your ovulation by saliva test. Here it is: Maybe Baby Saliva Ovulation Microscope helps identify the fertile period for conception. Increased oestrogen levels identified by examining saliva. Maybe Baby helps predict when most likely to conceive.
