    Hot water heater wiring
    I have a 30 amp hot water heater I want to put a switch on it how do I conect the wires to th switch?

    Power in to L1 & L2.
    Load to the heater off the other two terminals. Probably T1 & T2, or something similar

    I would use a small pullout type disconnect. MUCH easier and cheaper.

    Why can't you just use the breaker?

    Do the black wires go to the left side and the white go to the right side I have a DOUBLE POLE SWITCH

    Depends on the switch. They are NOT all the same.
