    Judgement Proof
Hi. I just found this site and really think it's very helpful to all it's users. Here is my problem... I was diagnosed with lung cancer back in Oct. 2007. I had my left lung removed. While I was out on medical my job was cut due to contracts not being renewed.
It has been a tough seven months so I have no way to pay my CC debts and also a few payday loans I have not kept up with. My question is this - since I have no income (only $100.00 a week unemployment) I rent my home and own nothing what can the CC companies & payday loans do to me? I had a bankruptcy only a year ago so I can't turn to that. I was doing great reestablishing myself until the cancer & job loss so please don't think I am a dead beat.

Don't keep any money in the bank, use cash and/or money orders. But if you don't have anything they can't get anything.

Thank you for your response! I have let the CC companies know that I can not pay and why I can't pay but it still doesn't stop them from calling. I am sending them letters to cease calling my home. I had insurance on the cards and sent all the needed paperwork back to them. But they tell me that my paperwork was sent back from the doctor's office outside of the 45 day limit they give. It was maybe 2 days past that time! What is someone suppose to do when they are recooperating from serious major surgery and then to be dependent on the doctor to have them mailed within a time limit. They wouldn't let me resubmit them. I wish they could have worked with me.

Call and speak to a supervisor at the credit card company. Two days tardy in turnaround paperwork should not be the end of the world to those people. Persist in speaking to someone and getting this settled - especially since you HAD insurance on the bills in the first place. Most people have no such insurance to even begin working with. Oh to keep them from calling just tell them when they call up that you want to be contacted only by U.S. Mail and to stop calling your number and promptly hang up. Or better yet, get a dial up internet connection and always be on the internet. Can't receive calls then, can you?

Twinkiedooter-Thank you. I have spoken with the supervisor. The supervisor told me to write a letter to the underwriter explaining the reasons etc. but I haven't heard back. I will write them again and tell them I need a response. I also am mailing letters today so they will stop calling. Oh-I was told that I did have death insurance on the cards so when I do die they will be paid off. Ok... LOL
