Flotec FP4815 pump not cutting in correctly.
I am having trouble with my "flotec" FP4815 automatic booster pump. I just purchased and installed it. A plumber on this site (I think he is "speedball"?) had helped someone else by telling him to use a pressure tank with this system. I had a pressure tank from an old system, so I did that. Thanks for that advice! I'm sure that'll save the pump's life. However, the pump never has cut in properly when drawn down to low pressure (<30 psi). Only when another appliance is used in the house does it cut in. (for example, when I shower, I have to reach out and flush the toilet a couple times during the shower, in order to get the unit to cut in-that sucks!).
I have a square D pump controller that is still hooked up (without electricity) to the old pressure tank. I can hear it cut in and out at the right pressures (as per the gauge 30/50psi). I'm gravity fed by a low pressure creek system, 3/4 inch line.
    1) is there a way to increase the sensitivity of the cut in on the FP4815?
    2) if not, can I bypass the built in switching on the FP4815 and go with the old, tried and true square d controller?
I realize now that maybe I should have just bought a pump and run everything old-style (properly) but the FP4815 seemed like such a new - fangled, good idea at the time.
    Can anyone help?

you should be able to. They'[re both pressure controls. Did you check the contacts for any arcing on the Flotec control box contacts? Let me know what you decide. Tom

Have you tried calling Flotec? They might have a relatively simple fix for this thing.
