Apropos cue cards up... rolling... and ACTION! And there goes the spin doctor again! Why does he have to go on the defensive to try to explain himself to Jewish voters in Florida? It must show they don't believe his answers about Jews to begin with! How many of those voters do you think actually believed his answers?

He's campaigning for the general election and that includes Jews and topics that are important to Jewish communities in any State. Do you have a problem with Obama speaking to the Jewish community?? Does freedom of speech bother you?? Do you fear the Black man or the Jews?? To remind you, Obama has endured a barrage of false emails circulating throughout the US. Why? Because some divisive Gentiles, thank G-d not the majority of sensible people on this planet (or on this forum), attempted a smear campaign against Obama by claiming he was against Israel and was indeed a Muslim. Wrong on both accounts and outright lies. The Torah is filled with accounts of justice remedied by explanation. In fact our civil courts run on such a defense system. All 3 candidates will be courting different constituencies. I for one am not thrilled that McCain is going to court La Raza.But that's politics.
Florida was a critical state in 2000 and 2004 and Jews in Florida, on average, are older than Jews in other states.
He can claim to be a friend of Israel all he wants to but he will have a hard time keeping the older American Jewish vote in his camp if he says he will deal with people who say they will wipe Israel off the map.
He has recently made comments that no one is suffering more than the Palestinian people;and he has said that Anti-Israeli terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah have legitimate claims. Obama appeared to hesitate when he was asked to name the United States' three closest allies during an NBC debate ;then listed the European Union, NATO and Japan. He added Israel after debate moderator Brian Williams prompted him. These are things that greatly concern the older Jewish voters in this country.
Also Obama made a strategic error in not spending time in Fla. During their primary. He made similar errors in other states he recently ignored that will hurt him if he is the nominee. Since he was not there to address them then yes ; probably the ugly net rumors about him gained a foot hold.

Florida was a key state in the last 2 Presidential elections . We already know that Fla Governor Crist is on McCain's short list for VPs .

I am very aware of diplomacy and it's strengths and weaknesses. WE have seen the effectiveness of good diplomacy time and time again in the Israeli -Palestinian conflict... right ?

Rebuffing an important state, especially several states, will most certainly come back to haunt him later on. People do not forget who did and who did not come to visit them and thus support them and will respond accordingly when they are at the ballot box. Don't be surprised if Florida and other states go to McCain or people just stay home in apathy due to Obama's indifference in feelings towards them.Quote:

Although they are not the only group in this Rotary Club of Hispanic organizations called La Raza ;they have been the one that has steered much of the Hispanic activism recently .
For McCain to go there is consistent with his overall immigration policy ;which when you strip away the lies he told Conservatives about border enforcement first ;is no different than the open border ;general amnesty policies of the Democrats .
