Probation officer is tearing apart my family
My partner of 8 years is on probation for a misdemeanor. We live in Apache County of Arizona. The probation officer lied and said I was hostile so now they want us separated or we have to move to a different county. We can't afford it. Can they do this? Do they have to buy us out? How can I defend my rights?

Did I hear the words my spouse of 8 years?? If you are a partner the probaton officer will have to prove you are hostile in court to get a order to force you to be apart. They need an attorney to dispute this.

    Hello annie:

    Yeah, probation officers suck!

I did a stint on probation in Maricopa county. The only stipulation was that I couldn't associate with felons... I don't think anything is different in Apache County.

If your partner is a felon, your PO MIGHT have a case (but I doubt it). However, if your partner ISN'T, then you can live with anyone you choose - even hostile people.

That's the law... Now, what to DO about it. Clearly, the PO isn't listening to you, so further talk there is pointless. You're going to need an intervention... I'd hire a real mean criminal attorney to do that.

Or, if you feel capable of handling the complaint yourself, I'll tell you how.

PS> (edited) Of course, YOU being the partner, it's YOU that needs to be the felon before the PO can do anything...
