How to repair Camry turn signal lever switch
My 1997 Camry has a bad turn signal lever switch, it just does not contact when I flip the switch. However if I hold and flip it slowly so it does not click, then the signal blinks. Do I need to replace it or is there a fix without removing everything like the steering wheel and air bag?

Good news, the switch comes separate. 2 screws, a connector, and it's out.
Just turn the steering wheel 1/4 turn each way and you'll see a screw on each side of the steering column covers.
You have one underneath also of the bottom section cover. The rest is 1-2-3.

Hello, have you tried to replace the switch yet? I need to replace the other switch (wipers) on my 99 Camry, I guess it should be the same process. Any info would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Same! What's your wipers doing? Never seen a switch go bad on these.

Hello kitch428, thanks for the answer. The intermittent function is not working and the wipers stop right away and don't return to their starting position when I turn them off. Guys at the shop told me it was the switch. Since I'm going to sell the car soon, I don't want to spend too much money and decided to give it a try by myself. What would be your guess? Thanks again!

When The Pulse Function Or Wipers Will Not Park, The Problem Usually Is Within The Intenal Motor.
You Can Pick One Up From Auto-zone And Always Return It. It's An Easy Job.

Thanks for the answer! With internal motor you mean the following part?
    Wiper Motor
    Again, thanks for the advice!

Yes, that's it. But keep your old one on the car first. You will need parts off the old one to mount it. But before you mount it, unplug the old one and plug it into the new one.
Now ground it to the firewall somehow. Have someone turn on the wipers and watch the motor pivot. Look for park after switched off, and the pulse movement for intermittent. Make sure it parks before install for proper wiper position.
If all OK, then go back and give them your core for credit, and mount the new motor.
A 10mm and a pry bar to pop off the linkage arm is all the tools you'll need.
Be sure the wipers are down when you unbolt the motor. Then you can swing the wipers by hand once it is unbolted to gain any access you'll need to pop off the linkage.

Go to that post, Charly. I've taken care of your question.

Kitch gave you great advise but you shouldn't piggyback onto other's question.
That can lead to confusion for the original post and other seeking the very repair you asked for.
