Replacing 40 Gallon hot water tank
Hi folks, just got a nice surprise today when I found out my hot water tank (installed in 1982!! :) ) and I was debating on just swapping it for a new 40 Gallon tank, or to upgrade to a 60 Gallon. My main question was whether the wiring needed to be changed for either scenario? Or just if I went with the 60?

In fact, I've already purchased a 40, but I'm still curious on wiring. Any suggestions or comments are most welcome.

    Regards,

    Colin

    KISS
Just picked this out of the hat:

Note that the element size is the same from 40 through 80 gal. The top and bottom elements generally are not on at the same time.

In this case, from this manufacturer, wiring changes would not be required.
