I have been trying to find out where the knock sensor is located on a 6 cyl 99 taurus. Please help.

It's likely installed in the lower forward area of the block on your engine. It may have a half-moon metal cover protecting it, with a 2-wire connector. The wire going to the connector may be inside a plastic protective "conduit."
