    Switch & outlet issues
I just replaced a ceiling fan and installed CFL light bulbs. Since CFL's won't dim I replaced the dimmer switch with a single pole switch. I tripped my breaker a couple of times before I figured the correct wiring out to get the switch working. The problem now is all my wall outlets on the same circuit do not work yet the ceiling fan works. Help!!

It seems like you have a three wire setup. There is a diagram for that at this site. It may help you. Wiring a 3-Way Switch to Control Light and Maintain Hot Receptacle

I think possible a wire came loose in switchbox, also check your breakers.

If it took you a couple tries to wire the switch correctly, you must have more than two wires in the switch box! What do you have there?

I finally figured it out. The main lines for the outlets were in there too so I had to use a junction.
