Replacing light switch w/ fan switch
I am installing a new ceiling fan (hampton bay model 184-201)my question is when installing the fan swith in place of the light switch which wires go where. The light switch has three wires all black painted white. The fan switch has two black (hot) and one green (ground). I am assuming that two of the wires in the light swith are hot (1 to the switch and 1 to the light and the other is ground).

The fan switch has two wires, and a receiver that does in the ceiling?

How was the old switch wired? You wire the new switch exactly like the old switch.
