How do you straighten coarse hair or thick hair?

Blow dry it straight, then use a straightner, I use a chi. It works wonders! There are also products to help make hair straight, many that you can get at a local drug store. I have really thick hair and it's so heavy that it will do nothing but be straight.

A good friend of mine has thick curly hair and it takes her forever but she can blow dry it straight and use a straightner and it works, put hair in sections when straightning it makes it easier if you have lots of hair.
