    F1 Student Moved To Canada.
    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help my case:

I moved recently (September 1, 2005) to Canada from US. I was working as a Graduate Assistant in the States for 6 years and filled resident tax last 2 years before making the move to Canada.

I was wondering as to which form do I fill now. Also, if I fill US 1040 then do I state my address in Canada?

Also, I am filling jointly with my wife for past 2 years as US resident for tax purposes.

    I will appreciate any help.

    Sincerely,

    Jasbir

    Jasbir:

You are a dual-status alien, except in your case, your's is an expatriate return.

Download IRS Pub 519 from www.irs.gov and read Chapter 6 in detail.
